Field Trip for First-Graders

Wednesday, October 19th, 2016

In the ladybugs program, students get a chance to use their observation skills as they explore our pond and bamboo garden in Exploration Grove. They will discuss the parts and life cycle of insects, as the class constructs a large ladybug. Although observation is the focus of this program, our facilitators also guide students in hands-on investigations of real ladybugs.

On Wednesday, October 19th, first-graders will travel to the California Science Center to explore the world of the ladybug in the Big Lab, Ladybugs. They will also have the opportunity to visit the Endeavour and the newly arrived external tank of the shuttle, which carried the propellant necessary to "launch" the shuttle into space. Students will depart The Learning Castle at 8:45 a.m. and return to campus at 12:30 p.m. in time for lunch.

If you would like your child to attend this trip, please complete and return the attached Field Trip Permission form by Wednesday, October 5th, 2016.
