The Huntington is a research and educational center set amidst 120 acres of breathtaking gardens. Three art galleries and a library showcase magnificent collections of paintings, sculptures, rare books, manuscripts, and decorative arts. The botanical collection features over 14,000 different species of plants.

A private, nonprofit institution, The Huntington was founded in 1919 by railraod and real estate developer Henry Edwards Huntington and opened to the pubilec in 1928.

On Wednesday, Juanary 4, 2017, 7th-grade students will be traveling to the world-renowned Huntington Gardens to take a look at Huntington Library's collection of remarkable artworks housed in the Huntington mansion. Students will be departing La Canada Preparatory at 9:00 a.m. and returning to campus at 1:00 p.m.

Students will need to bring a sack lunch, including snack and drinks, in a clearly labeled disposable bag. Please make sure that you do not ordes Choicelunch on a field trip day.

If you would like your child to attend this trip, please complete and return the attached Field Trip Permission form to La Cananda Preparatory by Friday, Decemeber 9, 2016.
