The Pasadena Showcase House Youth Concert, at Walt Disney Concert Hall, is alive with laughter and music each year as over 4,000 enraptured fourth grade students experience an original orchestral theater production Since 1953, the Pasadena Showcase House Youth Concert has introduced nearly 250,000 fourth graders to a classical concert performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Proceeds from the Pasadena Showcase House of Design, as well as support from The Green Foundation make this concert possible.

On Wednesday, December 6th, 2017, the Pasadena Showcase House, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, will bring a very special concert experience to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. For most students, this is the first opportunity to experience the remarkable art and architecture of Walt Disney Concert Hall and their first exposure to classical symphonic music in a a world-class concert hall. Designed to weave musical concepts into an appealing storyline, the production of the concert often includes humor and utilizes actors, visual effects and other theatrical devices to keep the students engaged.

This year's concert is Igor Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, which is based on a Russian folktale aobout a magical bird.

Students will leave La Canada Preparatory School at 8:15 a.m. and travel to downtown Los Angeles for a 10:00 a.m. concert. Students will return to school in time for lunch.

If you would like your fourth grader to attend this concert, please complete the attached permission form and return it to the office by Monday, November 20th, 2017.
