LCP needed a big win over Gooden today to have a chance of winning the Eastern Division and advancing to the Foothill League Championship but came up quite a bit short, losing 40-8.
LCP hosted Glendale Academy today and came away with the straight-set victory, 25-15; 25-20, to improve their regular season record to 8-0 and extend their unbeaten streak to 17 games.
LCP boys doubled up Mayfield 22-11, winning five out of six sets while the girls took care of business on their side, winning 18-8 and taking four out of five sets.

La Canada Canada Preparatory held Student Council Elections on Tuesday. Forty candidates ran for thirteen positions from president to class representative. Officers made campaign speeches to the student body on Tuesday morning while candidates for class representative made speeches in the classroom.
The 2022 Lady Knights were unbeaten in league play on their way to a championship last year, but there was one blemish on their schedule: a three-set opening day loss to South Pasadena. LCP avenged that loss yesterday, defeating S. Pas in three sets: 20-25, 25-10, 15-10.
After six weeks and seventy-one games, the Fifteenth Annual LCP Chess Tournament concluded on May 31st with sixth grader Gayane Pogosyan taking home the all-school title.

The La Cañada Preparatory Athletic Department hosted their Twelfth-Annual Sports Awards Banquet with over 125 student-athletes, family and friends attending. The event was held at the FIS gymnasium.
On Friday, May 12, 2023, over 150 mothers from The Sand Castle Preschool, The Learning Castle and La Canada Preparatory gathered at the Chevy Chase Country Club in Glendale for the Second-Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon.
On April 11, 2023, the 72nd-Annual California Science and Engineering Fair showcased 896 individual and student-team projects at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. The fair featured the top middle- and high-school students from around the state and awarded over $60,000.00 in prize money.
On March 13, 2023, the 73rd-Annual Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair showcased over 500 individual and student-team projects at USC’s Shrine Exposition Hall. The fair featured some of the most accomplished middle- and high-school students that the county has to offer.
In March 2020, The Learning Castle and La Canada Preparatory were two weeks from presenting their spring musical production of Frozen, Jr., when a global pandemic shut the world down. On Saturday, March 23rd, TLC and LCP’s performing arts department returned to the stage for the first time since March 2019 to present their spring production, Broadway Junior Revue, before near-capacity crowds at La Canada’s own Lanterman Auditorium.
On Friday, January 27th, after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, local La Cañada private schools, The Learning Castle and La Cañada Preparatory, held their 22nd-Annual Science Fair. Over 95 entrants, ranging in age from eight to thirteen, proudly displayed their experiments which covered eight different scientific disciplines.
On Saturday evening, January 28, 2023, over 250 friends of The Learning Castle and La Cañada Preparatory gathered at the Castaway Burbank to commemorate the schools’ 30th anniversary.
