Winter Sing

The Learning Castle and The Sand Castle Preschool presented their annual winter shows on Thursday, December 19, at the Lanterman Auditorium before enthusiastic audiences of parents, friends and family.
The TLC show was entitled Let's Get Nutty and was written and directed by TLC music teacher, Kristin Maitlen, and included new holiday standards as “Peppermint Candy Canes,” “We Wish You Had a Sugar Plum Kingdom” and “I Want an Animal Cracker Hippo for Christmas”
Second- and third-grade students also performed dance numbers to “The Polar Express,” “Hot Chocolate” and “A Swingin' Little Christmas Tree.” Dance numbers were choreographed and staged by TLC dance teacher, Rakkell Villagomez.
The TSC preschool performance, entitled Winter Wonders, Tiny Treasures featured two- and three-year old children dressed up in their holiday best and singing at the top of their lungs.  Each class sang three short songs that were directed by their class teachers.
“Seeing two-year olds on stage singing holiday songs has to be the most adorable thing ever,” said preschool director, Angie Keshishian. “It’s a lot of work, but it’s so worth it in the end.”
The next big project for the TLC/LCP performing arts department will be their annual spring musical on March 22, 2025, at the Lanterman.  All productions are produced through the schools’ Annual Giving Campaign and the Strait Up Foundation.
